Who are b4e?

B4E P/L is a national company focusing on amalgamating business and Governments in the fight against environmental damage and in the process to raise consumer awareness to the wastage occurring in the supermarket supplied 'green bags' and the danger and pollution associated with plastic shopping bags. As an environmentally aware business you can take positive action and promote yourself at the same time by booking space now on the next EnviroBag. For a relatively small cost, you can have your logo and text displayed on 50,000 totally recyclable and recycled and bio-degradable sturdy paper EnviroBags. B4E launches are also held every three months to coincide with the release of each new batch of EnviroBag's. At the launches, wine is provided by the awared-winning Wild Fox Organic Wine and cheeses by the award-winning b.-d. farm, Paris Creek.
The strong EnviroBags are used by a wide variety of businesses and are handed out free to shoppers and distributed by participating businesses. The attractive graphic of the bag (put together by Wyatt Creative) ensures that people see your name amongst the list of environmental supporters. There are bigger sizes available for those who wish for a bigger, bolder display.
Part proceeds go to Trees For Life and The Conway Kids Trust Fund. Sound systems at B4E launches are supplied by Derringers.

"I am distressed by the amount of plastic rubbish in the world's oceans - something like 13,600 plastic items in every square kilometre". - Ian Kiernan, Environmentalist
At least 80 million plastic bags end up as litter on our beaches, streets and parks. Australian local and State Governments spend over $200 million a year picking up litter - figures from Planet Ark
Plastic bags endanger wildlife - Help to stop it now.
"Trees For Life is delighted to have the support of B4E through this great environmental initiative. We all wonder what we can do as individuals to make some kind of positive impact on our environment. Little things like buying in bulk with less packaging from retailers (like Waste Not Want Not who feature on EnviroBag 2 next to the TFL Logo) are a good way to start. Supporters like B4E help Trees For Life in our revegetation efforts. Trees reduce erosion, salinity, absorb carbon and look beautiful too. Thanks to B4E for making a great contribution to our environment." - Glenys Perri, Sponsorship Officer, Trees For Life.
"The Walford community can be proud that we are gradually becoming an environmentally friendly school. There's positive energy from doing something real to benefit the environment and that energy radiates. I have seen it happen at Walford, especially since ECHO ( Environmentally Conscious and Humanitarian Organisation). Luckily, schools and businesses are beginning to get in tune with the environment. If the idea of a few people in a small organization like B4E can reach this level, why can't the government do things that have 100 times the impact! It is possible and Australia's youth is waiting for it to happen. I'm sure many people in the community agree that making the right choices for the world we live in should not be the result of constant persuasion and deep thought. It should be a 'no-brainer'. When I showed this bag to my mum, her immediate response was, "Hey, that's what they used when we were kids." Since that time the world has been caught up with new products and gadgets and we've been forced into useing plastic. What a huge environmental disaster that has been for the world! Thank goodness someone is bringing back the good old brown paper bags and taking a step in the direction towards a positive environmental future. Soon we should all be running in that direction." - Rikki Belder, Year 12 Walford Anglican School For Girls student and member of the schools Echo Group
"Carbon Planet is glad to see initiatives like the B4E EnviroBag. A reusable, biodegradable bag made from recycled materials uses less energy and creates less environmental impact from land use and forestry than producing bags from virgin pulp. Personal choice and behavioural change are integral to responsible action on climate change. Choosing to use an EnviroBag is a simple action that can be taken by individuals to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions. The B4E EnviroBag is a great initiative and promotes sustainable businesses and is an important step towards our sustainable future." - Pearl Tassell, Schools' Program Coordinator, Carbon Planet
The Launches - From the outset it was decided to hold launches to announce the release of each run of EnviroBags. That way it would be possible for those that had supported the bags to meet and mix in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. After the successful launch of the first B4E EnviroBag in Dec 2009 at Bings MP3 Cafe in Brighton, (Go to Bings at 65 Jetty Road and mention the EnviroBag and get a 10% discount from your bill) South Australia with guest speakers Vaughan Levitzke frrom Zero Waste SA, the Federal members for Hindmarsh and Boothby and Glenys Perri from Trees For Life, we were keen to get number two happening. Well, happen it has and, like the first launch, it went off well. Guest speakers this time 'round were Pearl Tassell from Carbon Planet, Glenys Perri from Trees For Life and Walford Year 12 student and member of the school's Echo Group, Rikki Belder. In the beer garden of Mitcham's lovely Edinburgh Hotel, businesses people listened while enjoying Wild Fox Organic Wines and B.-D. Farm, Paris Creek cheeses. Launch 3 took place at Walford Anglican School for Girls on June 16 and again, was a resounding success with 500 EnviroBags being handed out to students.
